Norman A. Garcia, P.Eng., MBA, LEED AP BD+C
Norman Garcia graduated B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of the Philippines in 2000, moved to Winnipeg in 2011, and became a registered fire protection professional engineer (P.Eng.) in Manitoba in 2015.
That same year, he obtained his Certified Professional Inspector designation with the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) and eventually founded Mr. Peg Property Inspections Inc. In 2018, Norman became an Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP BD+C).
Aside from helping homebuyers and homesellers, Norman provides code and standards interpretations to engineers, architects, municipalities, planning districts and the general public. Norman also sits in the Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba’s Registration Committee that reviews applications of professionals wanting to practice engineering and geoscience in the Province of Manitoba.
Outside of work and family, he trains and competes in long-distance triathlons and full marathons barefooted, while raising money for World Vision Philippines.
Felizardo C. Mercado, Jr., CPI
Felizardo Mercado Jr graduated B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Mapua Institute of Technology in the Philippines in 1986, moved to Winnipeg in 2015, and currently pursuing a career in building facility operations and maintenance with a leading properties company in Winnipeg.
In 2016, Felizardo got his 5th Class Power Engineering license and designation with the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) as Certified Professional Inspector. Also, a member of Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba (CTTAM).
Prior to moving in Canada, he was a seasoned engineer and had worked for over 25 years in a managerial capacity with the various large multi-national companies (Universal Robina Corporation, San Miguel Corporation, Jollibee Foods Corporation, Red Ribbon Bakeshop Inc, and Philip Morris) in the Philippines. Felizardo’s expertise includes industrial plant engineering operations management, project management and business development.
As a certified professional inspector, he had inspected over 200 houses including commercial establishments in Winnipeg.
Edwin C. Madera, P.Eng., CPI
Edwin Madera graduated B.S. Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Philippines in 1998, moved to Winnipeg in 2014, and became a registered professional engineer (P.Eng.) in Manitoba in 2018.
Edwin obtained his RME certification (Registered Mechanical Engineer) in 1998 and PME (Professional Mechanical Engineer) in 2013 from Professional Regulation Commission in the Philippines.
Recently, he obtained his Certified Professional Inspector in August 2018 and become the newest member of Mr. Peg. Aside from doing home inspection, he is designing sheet metal and metal alloy products for architectural and construction purposes, and food industry. He is active in doing volunteer work for community groups (like UPAA-MB and FMC-EGM), Winnipeg Harvest and Siloam Mission.
Outside of work and family, he is active in geek interests and dabbles in sport activities like badminton.
